While you raise a thought-provoking hypotheses Stephen, the profit motive by amoral ex-wives needs to be considered. This is one of the dimensions raised in the 2014 Joseph Sorge documentary Divorce Corp. https://www.amazon.com/Divorce-Corp-Dr-Drew-Pinsky/dp/B0182ZY4EC/

As well as the profit motives of amoral divorce attorneys, child custody evaluators, and the entire divorce industrial complex.

I heartily agree. The problem with the current system is the children are harmed by a system that reinforces conflict between the divorced parents. Conflict leads to more billable hours. At least I had the temperament and intellectual disposition to serve as my own attorney for the last 11 of the 13 years the divorce case was active. One of the court officials took me into his office on the day of the final court session. He endorsed me for my persistence. He thought my daughters would benefit in the long run. (My ex-wife raised false allegations of child sexual abuse. She was never sanctioned for her criminal actions. I'm grateful for the support of my present wife. We have been a couple for almost 32 years. The karmic justice was that my ex-wife was the agent that brought me together with my current wife. )

Both patriarchy and female submissives have been over-reported and blown out of reasonable proportion. Females have used their wiles to subvert men for millennia. And the natural leadership of males has never been obvious except in positions of power. Within the family unit men have rarely dominated submissive females. Women have always been rebels.

This is the most perspicacious summary of the corruption of the law one is likely to read. The feminists have turned the west into Police States and Baskerville explains concisely how and why. I can't wait to purchase the lectures in written form.
