I come from a family rampant with sexual abuse on my father's side. I've never thought of it until now quite clearly...but even in that environment rarely was the sexual abuse from father to daughter. It was grandfather to granddaughter, uncle to niece in all the cases I remember. And my own father abused my older half-sisters, children who were not his. I now remember distinctly listening to stories from girls who fathers were also pedophiles on a few occasions...they were also spared the abuse. Fathers, even the ones evil enough to be pedophiles, will rarely harm their own offspring in such a way...not when there are suitable others available to take the abuse. But too often I hear stories where the mother was complicit, if not actively facilitated, the sexual abuse of their own children. This is an interesting phenomenon. There are a lot of interesting phenomenon many don't want to look at honestly.
All animals, humans included, have a nature best not tampered with too drastically and we're seeing more and more knock-off effects of this.
In my country, Australia, the Catholic Church is fully complicit in the lie of child abuse mostly being perpetrated by fathers, especially married fathers in intact homes.
We have the ubiquitous lie from the government and MSM that dv laws and funding exist to protect "mothers and their children", and the Catholic Church rides on this in their announcements on dv, and in their charitable fund-raising.
Fathers are presented as "dangerous", by default, and mothers as innocent victims protecting their children. Men and boys, especially those in "conservative" and/or religious environments, need to be taught to not grow up to be abusers.
So, I can speak from intimate knowledge of the Catholic Church in Australia, and also from close observation of other mainstream Christian denominations and charities.
I strongly suspect that this goes further than Australia.
